Next-Generation High-Efficiency Transformer Powers Green Energy Development

Huaneng Electric, a leading domestic power equipment manufacturer, has recently announced the successful development of a new high-efficiency transformer. Utilizing advanced materials and innovative design, the transformer significantly reduces energy losses and improves power transmission efficiency. This breakthrough strongly supports the development of green energy in China.

According to Li Ming, Chief Technology Officer of Huaneng Electric, the new transformer employs nanocrystalline materials and an optimized coil design, reducing energy losses by over 20%. In addition, the transformer features smart monitoring capabilities that enable real-time operational status tracking, early detection, and handling of potential faults — ensuring stable power system operation.

"As renewable energy continues to grow rapidly in China, efficient and reliable power transmission equipment is becoming increasingly important," said Li Ming. "We believe this new transformer will provide strong support for the widespread adoption of green energy sources such as wind and solar power."

The transformer has passed rigorous testing by the National Center for Quality Supervision and Testing of Power Equipment and is expected to enter the market soon. Huaneng Electric plans to promote this technology over the next three years, contributing to China's goals of achieving peak carbon emissions and carbon neutrality.
